A little about me
Hello, and welcome!
My name is Susan, and I am a disabled Navy vet as well as a mother to a beautiful special needs daughter. I was in the Navy for six years before I was medically retired for my issues. Both my daughter and I have both benefited from having rats in our lives; they seem to be the perfect therapy companions for us. They've helped my daughter cope with her emotional difficulties and sensory issues, and even opened her up to making friends. Having a little rat friend to love on and cuddle when upset has helped her tremendously.
I have owned rats as pets for over four years. My rattery is named after Alice, my first sweetheart, who passed in 2015. She was my heart rat, my baby girl; she was everything you could hope for in a companion. I lost her early to cancer, and it devistated me.
Alice was a pet store rat. Her genetics were unknown. After she passed, I made it my mission to learn as much as I could about rat genetics, show quality, and breeding ethics. I sought out a mentor, and was graciously accepted by Camarattery and Emerald City Rattery. Camarattery's website can be found here. Emerald City Rattery can be found here. I want to honor Alice's memory by producing rats as wonderful as she was, but with some guarantee to a much longer life than she was gifted.
I am also working with another breeder, as our goals are incredibly similar, and we are both starting out breeding together. Her rattery, Maidin Realta Rattery, can be found here.
If there are any other questions you may have that I haven't answered here, feel free to contact me.
